HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Hi crafty friends,

Mother's day is around the corner in Germany and in these times it's hard to meet, especially if you live far from each other.

So I came up with a mini album for my mum, that I'll send her, that features not only photos of my kids, but also their funniest phrases I collected over the years. What could be better to brighten my mum's day, than an album about the little folk?

I named it "Kindermund tut Wahrheit kund" after a German saying, what means "out of the mouth of babes comes truth".

For this album I used the Hanging tag dies, marked the outlines of the biggest tag shape twice on a piece of cardboard and cut them out. For covering the cardboard I used the Save the bees design paper in 12x12 inch. Just mark the outlines of the dies again twice, add apx. 2cm overlap all around the tag and cut them out.

Spread laminate glue all over the cardboard and glue on the design paper. The most difficult part are the rounded corners, where you have to lay the paper carefully in pleats. The cardboard on the inside is covered by tags with paper of your choice again (mark the outlines of the biggest tag twice and cut them out).

Afterwards, I cut out two holes for the book rings and put in some eyelets in matching colors to reinforce the holes. Than the fun began: I cut out different tags from the Save the bees paper, vellum, old books and from a kraft paper bag I had in my paper stash. To create pockets for hidden tags, I cut a tag in half, punched-out a semi circle and glued it carefully (don't use too much glue) on another tag. The smaller tag dies of this set will fit in.

I decorated the album with the Save the bees die cut shapes, some ribbon of my stash, a stamp (Hugs & Kisses - Postage Hugs). I hope you enjoy my inspiration and you'll try to make a mini album own your own, it's so worth it.
