HELLO WORLD!
Mandy Pätzold
Hey there!
My name is Mandy and I’m a stampaholic, jewelry designer, mom of two, wife and coffee & book addict from Potsdam (Germany). I first stepped into the world of stamping and paper crafting in October 2016.
I like card making the most, but I also enjoy making mini albums, gift packaging and layouts.
What I love about my hobby are the people I met and the friends I made on my way so far.
Hey crafty friends,
it's Mandy at the ModaScrap blog today.
As I saw the new baby themed dies and paper pads, it was love at first sight. The darling sun, moon, stars, clouds and rain drops - cuteness overload.
There are so many ways to showcase these beautiful items. This time I decided to create an explosion box as I haven't made one in a while. The box measures 10 x 10 cm and captures a second box with a little garland.
You start with a 30 x 30 cm piece of white cardstock and score it every 10 cm, rotate the paper and repeat scoring. Now you have a piece of paper with nine squares. Connect the scorelines across the corner with a pencil and cut off the triangles.
Next you choose one side and cut 10 cm into the scoreline (stop at the crossing scoreline), repeat this step on the opposite side on the same scoreline. Run your glue across the scoreline, fold your flaps over and glue it together. Now you have a pocket. Turn your box base and repeat this step on the other side and you'll get your second pocket.
If you want to add a second layer to your box, take a 27 x 27 cm sheet of paper and score it every 9 cm. Repeat the steps like before.
Decorate your boxes and pockets with design paper and matching die cuts. Glue bottom to bottom.
For the lid I used a 16,2 x 16,2 cm piece of white cardstock and scored it at every 3 centimeters by rotating it. Take one side of the paper and cut into both scorelines until you reach the crossing scoreline. Rotate your paper and do the same on the other side. Decorate your paper with design paper and die cuts.
The small box in the middle measures 7 x7 cm and is actually made the same way. I didn't want it to be another explosion box, so I glued it together. You can fit in any other small gift box of your choice.
The explosion box is now ready for some tags, gift cards or other small and flat things. Have fun making your own one.
Happy crafting, Mandy
